B-UMS soccer teams split action at home with Bridgeport

TENNERTON – The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School soccer teams split action with Bridgeport Thursday evening in a pair of home contests.’

The Little Lady Bucs dropped a 4-2 decision while the Little Bucs shutout Bridgeport by a 2-0 score.

For the Little Lady Bucs, they took a 1-0 lead at the break behind a goal by Lily Rice. Isabella Nottingham tallied a second-half goal for B-UMS but they were outscored by a 4-0 count in the second half.

Nottingham and Hannah Kelley split time in net for the Little Lady Bucs with both keepers making six saves.

The loss dropped the Little Lady Bucs to 3-4-1 on the year.

For the Little Bucs, their game was tied at 0-0 at the half, but second-half goals by Dominic Figueroa and Brody Wright led them to their 2-0 win.

Landon Wright didn’t see a shot in net for the Little Bucs.

The Little Bucs improved to 4-3-1 on the year.

Both teams will be back in action Tuesday at Washington Irving. The girls will play at 6 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
