Derry Ross Haymond

Derry Ross Haymond, 57, of Elkins, W.Va., went peacefully in his sleep to be with the Lord on Friday, Feb. 15, 2019.

He was born Oct. 27, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Marlene Shipman Haymond Baldwin of Massillon, Ohio and the late Harold Ross Haymond.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Matt Haymond of Buckhannon, W.Va.; two daughters, Samantha Claypool and husband Mikeal of Buckhannon and Tabatha Morgan and husband Deacon of Denver, Colo.; four grandsons, Mitchell Bowers, Christopher Howard Jr., and Gunnar and Gavin Claypool all of Buckhannon; one sister, Kellie Strawder of Buckhannon; one brother, Chris Haymond of Massillon; one niece, Tessa Spinnler and husband Brandon of Hampton, Va. and one nephew, Daniel Strawder of Buckhannon.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Haymond.

Mr. Haymond was a welder for over 30 years and loved hunting, camping, socializing with friends and family and NASCAR.

Friends will be received Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Lowther officiating. In honoring Mr. Haymond’s wishes he will be cremated.  

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
